Nominate (Volunteer Awards)
Alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs are significant issues that affect young people all across the country. The goal of our program is to change the environment, community norms, and standards that exist for young people around substance use and abuse in our society. Consequently, we are looking to nominate individuals who have exhibited exceptional efforts and involvement in the area of ATOD prevention. We ask that you send us submissions of any individual who has demonstrated unique and exceptional commitment to the field of ATOD prevention. Some examples are:
- Individuals who have worked with local legislators or raised awareness around policy and legislation on a local, state, or national level.
- The creation of written plays, poems, music, or other forms of artistic expression that convey prevention messages for youth.
- Working with law enforcement to provide alternative activities for youth who wish to engage in ATOD free fun.
- Any other demonstration of youth involvement (above and beyond) organization membership where an individual took the initiative to prevent ATOD a step further than belonging to a club.
Individuals will be chosen and invited to attend Lead On!, where they will be awarded during a ceremony.
